Mission Statement and Aims of Singapore Association of Ningbo China - SANB
The Singapore Association of Ningbo China is a non-profit support group with the mission to create, support and promote a cohesive Singaporean community in Ningbo China. The Association is established with the following aims:
1. To provide a networking platform among the Singaporean and local communities to promote entrepreneurial and social engagements and interactions.
2. A “go to” information resource on various issues ranging from government policies, safety and security to tips for members and aid new comers in transition to the city.
3. To promote inclusivity through cultural exchange via celebration of events such as National Day, New Year Day and festivals.
4. To build SANB identity by promoting the Singapore brand among the local community.
The 4 “I”s of SANB:
The Singapore Association (Ningbo) inauguration event 2021 The long awaited Singapore Association in Ningbo was finally launched on May 15 2021, 6 p.m, and the inauguration ceremony was held at the Ningbo Sheraton Hotel.
It was a great venue with positive atmosphere and the event attracted nearly 100 old and new friends from Singapore, South East Asia, China and foreigners living in Ningbo.
In the opening speech by Ms. Lena Chou, President of the Singapore Association, the Singapore Association was officially launched and she expressed appreciation for the strong support and attendance of the guests.
The Singapore Association Executive Committee believes that the relaunch of the Singapore Association will serve as a platf orm to better support Singaporeans in Ningbo to engage with the local Chinese and foreigner communities.
The Association will also organise multiple channels and events for Ningbo local friends to understand Singapore, as a nation and its culture, and create more opportunities for exchanges and cooperation.
The event was grace by the presence of two honourable guests from the Ningbo municipal government: Mr Chen GuoMiao, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ningbo Municipal government and Ms Liao Weiwei, Deputy Director of the Foreign Experts Bureau of the Ningbo Municipal Science and Technology Bureau. Both guests took the stage to express their support and best wishes for the Association.
After the opening ceremony, a Singaporean themed buffet was specially prepared by EXCO for the invited guests. There were numerous Singaporean dishes such as chicken curry, Singapore Char Kuay Teow and curry puff, with wine and drinks.
The guests mixed and mingled with each other, and had a great evening knowing new friends and reconnecting with old acquaintances. More than 70 guests signed up on the event to become members of the Singapore Association and were given a commemorative edition membership card prepared by the Organizing Committee.
This is the first of the many events that the Singapore Association has and will be organising for the Ningbo community.There will bi-weeky social and networking activities comprising of family outings and professional seminars and makan (food) sessions in the future for all members.For more information,please contact info@sa-nb.com and all nationalities are welcome to join us.
